Online Safety

Online safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Shortbrook Primary School . We have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored internally to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material.

Online Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the online safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.

Online life and offline life is just life

For many of us, we see our online lives and offline lives as different, but children are growing up with technology and the internet and for them there isn’t a difference; online life and offline life is just life.

Technology can move at an extraordinarily fast pace and it can be difficult to know how to start talking to your child about what they’re doing online, who they might be speaking to or discussing the potential risks and issues.  Please use the guides/websites below to help keep your child safe online.

Our weekly updates will help to keep you updated on new games, offer you advice, advise you of age restrictions etc
