Moki
This term has seen the start of a new initiative at Shortbrook Primary School, used to engage our
children with physical activity in a fun and exciting way.
Welcome to Moki!
Moki is a physical activity tracker, designed for schools. We are using Moki as a way to motivate our
children to become more physically active. Every child has received a Moki band that they wear in
school each day. The band records both their steps and the intensity of their exercise. The children
love it! Each day, they can scan their bands which shows them how physically active they have been.
As the year moves on, we will set challenges where children can: compete against other classes in
school, improve on their own achievements and set personal goals- they can even compete against
the Shortbrook staff!
We are extremely excited to continue using the Moki bands as a way of promoting and celebrating
the importance of physical activity and the positive impact it has on children both physically and
mentally.
Below is a fact sheet which explains a little bit more about the initiative from Moki.
Keep checking the website for further updates where we aim to celebrate all children’s
achievements with Moki.
