Other Important Changes from September

  • ALL PARENTS AND VISITORS TO SCHOOL WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE COVERING WHILST ON THE SCHOOL PREMISES INCLUDING THE PLAYGROUND.
  • All pupils will be expected to wear school uniform. We are asking for all children to wear black jogging pants and black trainers in readiness for PE and other physical activity. All PE will be non – contact and all PE and playground equipment will be cleaned well after use. The children will not change for PE.
  • Breakfast club, after school provision and school events will continue to be suspended as advised by public health. Milk will be provided to eligible pupils and pupils can bring a healthy snack to school, if required. Ideally this needs to be a daily piece of fruit.
  • Assemblies will being again on 2nd November.  These will be based in the main hall and will be with one class at a time
  • The school kitchen commenced serving hot meals on 2nd November with the children continuing to eat in their classrooms. Food provision will be reviewed regularly. ALL pupils will need a labelled water bottle. Playtimes will continue to be staggered in allocated spaces and no mixing will be allowed.
  • Any school payments will need to be made via the parentmail app. School will not be in a position to accept any cash.
  • Attendance at school. The government has relaxed the rules on attendance during lockdown. However, this will change in September. The government guidance says: ‘Missing out on more time in the classroom risks pupils falling further behind. Those with higher overall absence tend to achieve less well in both primary and secondary school. School attendance therefore will be mandatory again from the beginning of Autumn term. This means that from that point, the usual rules on school attendance will apply’.  If your child is unable to attend school please inform the school office. This will need to be done by telephone as parents will still be unable to enter the school building. Only one parent per pupil please.
  • All the above information is based on the latest government / public health guidance which is updated regularly. I will keep you informed of any changes via the parentmail app – please ensure you download this as soon as possible. I
