Tombs and Treasures


In science, Year 3/4 will be researching and studying all about teeth and the digestive system in different animals including humans.



This term the children will create prints of famous landmarks, including the Great Pyramids using a printing block.


Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health Education

  • Maintaining our Golden rules

  • Money management:
  • The value of things
  • Budgeting
  • Debt

PE and Swimming

Children will be focusing on movement, cooperation with peers and mobility all through the topic of dance!

Children will be refining the ball skills they have learnt through basketball.

This term we will be swimming every Friday morning at Springs




This term the children will be learning all about:

  • Multiplying and dividing numbers.
  • In Year 4 we will concentrate on multiplying using formal written methods.
  • In Year 3 we will focus on multiplying and dividing up to two digit numbers.


What you can do at home

Times tables will be given as homework  every week.  Please help your children to learn them.



This term the children will learn all about the great tombs and treasures from Ancient Egypt.

Children will use both their  geography and history skills to uncover the secrets of Ancient Egypt.


Things to remember

Bring PE kit every week (PE will be on Mondays and Thursdays)

Reading 3 times a week to an adult = a PRIZE!



Showcase day

On Wednesday 15th February, Y3/4 will be holding their showcase event.

Please come along and help us to celebrate the hard work the children have put in.



  • In English we will be:
  • Using our reading skills!
  • Writing a character description of the Iron Man
  • Describing a story setting.
  • Creating our own story.
  • Finding out about the journey the Iron Man takes through speaking and listening.
  • Becoming confident with our age related spellings through practice and spelling tests (Friday!)


What you can do at home

  • Listen to your child read everyday
  • Practise spellings with your child.
  • Discuss the book your child is reading (The Iron Man)
  • We are having a big push on vocabulary this half term: talk about new words you might come across together and discuss the meaning.
