For a child to be eligible for this Free Early Learning Provision they need to meet both the age and circumstance eligibility criteria. Please see the document below to check if you could be eligible and for information on how to apply.
If your child is eligible you will receive a confirmation email or a reference number- this then needs to be brought into school along with a copy of your child's birth certificate. Depending on places available, Nursery will then arrange a start date for your child.
A child can start nursery the term following their 3rd birthday and have access to 15 hours free education.
If you wish to put your childs name down for a place in Nursery either complete the form below or call into the school reception.
When your child is due to start, two members of our foundation team will do a home visit to get to know both you and your child to ensure a smooth transition into Nursery.
Before your child is due to start, you will be invited into short sessions to aid the settling in process as we are aware it is a big change for children and parents alike.
Here at Shortbrook we take attendance very seriously.
It is important that from the moment a child starts Nursery with us that good attendance begins and follows right through school with them. We believe having good attendance is the key to success.
Every child in school including our nursery pupils are monitored every week to ensure attendance remains at a high level and to prevent attendance from falling.
If your child's attendance falls, you will receive a letter. School will then revise your funded hours and possibly reduce.
We treat our nursery the same as the rest of our school and expect each child to be in on time every day. Please inform the school if there is anything that will prevent your child in attending every day.
